This will change for artisans in 2025


The minimum wage will be increased again in 2022. It will initially rise to 9.82 euros per hour starting from January 2022 and will then be increased again to 10.45 euros per hour on 1 July 2022.

At the turn of the year, industrial minimum wages in the electricity, roofing and building cleaning sectors will increase. Over the course of the year, the minimum wage will also increase in the painting and varnishing sector, as well as for stonemasons, sculptors and scaffolders.

From 1 January 2022, the minimum wage limit in the electrical equipment trade is 12.90 euros per hour, while in the roofing sector the hourly wage is now 13 euros for unskilled workers and 14.50 euros for daily workers. For cleaners working in interior and maintenance cleaning, the minimum wage has been increased to 11.55 euros per hour; Window and facade cleaning employees will now receive an hourly wage of 14.81 euros.

It is not yet clear what will happen to painters and varnishers. In any case, the collective agreement expires on May 22, 2022 and as a result there will certainly be an increase in the minimum wage. When it comes to stonemasons and sculptors, however, we know more. Here wages will rise to 13.35 euros on August 1, 2022. The situation is similar in the scaffolding trade. From 1 October 2022, scaffolders are entitled to €12.85 per hour.

Compensation for interns is also increasing

Furthermore, the minimum training allowance for trainees has also been increased again. From 1 January 2022, a minimum salary of 585 euros is expected for trainees in any sector for the first year of training. For the second, third and fourth year of training there are supplements of 18%, 35% and 40% more respectively, based on the initial salary.
